Jen Craun

Through this series of prints, I explore patterns and textures of the landscape and process of diamond mining, the excavation of gems, and other precious metals. I’m interested in notions of value, and potential value, and how we examine and measure these ideals. Employing the lexicon of the processes that I am investigating, I make language plays with both the image and process that deliver multiple meanings.

The small etchings are printed intaglio with a border all around on 8″x10” white cotton Rives BFK paper. The larger pieces are wood intaglio printed intaglio and bleed off all edges of 26″x40″ white cotton Rives BFK paper.  The prints in this series are further layered with relief print, drawing, screen print, chine colle’ and gold leaf.
